Today I celebrate my 28th birthday. I hosted a birthday party two weekends ago at my family’s property at Lake Travis (two weeks ago so that my brother could go since he left on his honeymoon the following week). It was probably one of the best birthday parties I have ever had mainly because so many of my friends were able to help me celebrate. We also had good food and fun stuff to do. Thanks to Stuart Cohen for bringing his potato gun which was able to blow holes in plywood. That thing is simple but awesome. One bittersweet note is that several of my friends have gotten jobs away from Austin so are moving away in the near future. Hopefully I will be able to do a better job of keeping in touch with them than I have in the past with other people that have moved away.

One thing that I found amusing is all the facebook salutations I have received today. I enjoy getting them but what amuses me is who they are from. Some of the people I haven’t seen or spoken to in years and yet they wish me happy birthday because facebook notes that it is that time of the year. The wall posts encourage me to remember who these people are, where I met them, and other good times associated with them.
