Emergency/Survial/Apocalypse Kit

This page has a semi-serious/semi-joking list of some things to have in an Emergency Kit(might actually be needed in real life) + Wilderness Survival Kit(also useful but more unlikely) + Apocalypse Survial Kit(probably not going to need but for collapse of government type situations) that I made just from reading some books (fiction and non-fiction) and my own thoughts. The list is not supposed to comprehensive or accurate. This list is not yet prioritized. We should all get ready for December 21, 2012.

Here is a list of websites I found that relate to survival gear and guides. I haven’t had a chance to test all the sites so I don’t know how good they are, since I currently don’t have a lot of money to spend getting survival gear.

Here is an article with some cool locations to survive the Apocalypse. Here is a house that transforms so all the walls are concrete which would be great to stave off a zombie attack. There is actually a design contest to create Zombie Safe Houses. Here is an article about some of the winners of the competition.

This is a good list. I would want to add to it with some essential medicines like antibiotics and sedatives and surgical scalpels.

I feel like I would leave behing the night vision goggles for a CB radio or something more reasonable

I agree that night vision goggles are a little unreasonable which is why I put them on the last list which is for more extreme situations.
