Just read an article on Makezine about a transparent aluminum-based ceramic. It can withstand a .50 AP bullet better than conventional laminated glass armor and one of the first things that came to mind was that it would be a great material to use to build a “glass” house. You wouldn’t have to worry about throwing stones anymore. Too bad that it is apparently very expensive.

Consistent Diet?

I wonder what the health consequences would be for humans to have a consistent diet. I know that for the most part we feed our pets the same food every day and that there is normally an adjustment period for our pets if we change their diet. Would humans benefit from a more consistent diet e.g. only eating the same sandwich for each meal every day? It would also be interesting to know how consistent the diets of most people are. I don’t eat the exact same food every day but I also don’t eat that great a variety of food either. I rotate between the same half a dozen restaurants and cook the same few dishes.

I think restaurants need to change their receipt systems so that a tip line is added to the original receipt that is brought out. This would mean that they would only need to print a customer receipt instead of two additional receipts (customer and merchant) if a card is used. They could also add a check box if the customer wants a receipt and default to not printing one for the customer.

Hilarious Korean workout equipment. I don’t know Korean but it looks like they are comparing their workout equipment to horse riding. I am not sure how good horse riding is for fitness.

This past weekend I celebrated my 29th birthday with my friends at my parent’s “chateau” on Lake Travis. We made homemade pizzas using Home Slice Pizza dough and toppings everyone brought. It was some of the best pizza I have ever eaten.
We even tried to cut a watermelon in half using rubber-bands but I was too impatient to put on enough of them (you can see a video of some Koreans doing it in a previous post). Additionally some people were able to spend the night which was a lot of fun (haven’t had a sleepover in forever). We made breakfast tacos the next morning. It was one of my best birthdays.
